December 24th

“I’m heading out now, boys,” I called out as I stood in the doorway, about to leave to spend the afternoon at my old flat with my best friend.

Ash came hurtling down the stairs first, almost taking me out as he ran at me and wrapped me in a tight hug. Kel followed shortly after, holding us both, engulfing us in his huge arms. I laughed as they both kissed my cheeks, then gasped as E managed to shove them both aside and steal my breath away with a needy kiss. I was impressed at his ability to move the other two. Recently he had been taking his morning workouts almost as seriously as Kel did, and although he was absolutely nowhere near Kel’s size, he was getting stronger. Even more beautifully defined than when we first met.

“Have fun, Darling,” he whispered as he pulled back and turned to his friends with a smug smirk on his face.

“You have fun too, we’ll be listening,” I said, glancing between them.

They were going up to London for the afternoon for an interview on some radio station that E loved listening to. He was excited, for the most part. There were talks on the station of them performing an exclusive Christmas cover, and although he had put his foot down saying it wouldn’t happen, the woman interviewing them, Esther Isaac, was well known for her powers of persuasion, and her ability to dig up everyone’s darkest secrets. Luckily, I already knew all of my guys’ secrets, even Elijah’s biggest one, not that he knew I knew – Ash had laid in bed last night, confessing his fears into the darkness as Kel snored on my other side. He had told me how he had saved E from an attempt to take his own life. I hadn’t been surprised, I’d been close to that end once too, quite happy to let it all be over. I was glad he had told me, it helped me to understand my guys just a little better.

I wouldn’t tell E that I knew, and as far as I could tell, it was only Ash and I who did know. He said Kel might, but he’d never explicitly said it, only hinted. So that secret was one I was positive she wouldn’t uncover. Ash was a little nervous that she’d bring up his past, the revolving door of women, but I assured him that it wouldn’t bother me, and if it didn’t bother me – the woman he had ended up with – then it shouldn’t bother him either. Who cared who he had slept with in the past. None of us did. We were a zero-judgement family – unless it was about music or food choices, then we might get a little judgy.

I gave my guys a small wave, then stepped out into the icy air, instantly pulling my coat tighter around me as I hurried across the drive to E’s car. I had pinched his keys
